KENTON, OHIO—Superior Credit Union is proud to announce that construction is complete on its new full-service office and drive-thru in Kenton, located at 1209 E. Columbus St. in front of Walmart. Superior will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the new office with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. followed by an open house at 11:30 a.m.
Representatives from the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance will be in attendance to conduct the ceremony. Media is strongly encouraged to attend. Lunch will be served following the ribbon cutting. A live radio broadcast with WKTN will be held from 3-5:00 p.m.
“We feel the new Kenton location will complement our other branches throughout the area,” said Phil Buell, President and CEO of Superior. “Our goal is to provide our members with great service at the most convenient locations.” “Our existing members have really driven this,” Buell added.
“When we consider new branching opportunities, we look at where our members are already located and then build to suit their financial needs.” Despite not having an office in Hardin County, Superior was the third-largest mortgage lender (by loan volume) in Hardin County in 2012, according to the most recent HMDA data.
The new office will be managed by veteran Hardin County lender, Gloria Dunahue. Gloria came to Superior with over 20 years of experience in banking, consumer and mortgage lending.
In addition to their own expansion into Hardin County, Superior has partnered with Lima Memorial Health System to bring additional health care solutions to the area. Lima Memorial will open its Kenton Medical Center in the same building as the credit union’s new office. They will provide Family Care, Lab Services, Radiology, and Walk-in Care at this convenient one-stop location.
“We are excited for the opportunity to provide comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to the Kenton community,” said Mike Swick, Lima Memorial President and CEO. “In addition to the convenient location, the facility offers full service radiology, lab services and walk-in care six days a week at the same low-cost as a typical office visit co-pay.”
Schnipke Builders, of Glandorf, was the General Contractor for the project. The new facility was designed by Dick Wuest of K4 Architecture in Cincinnati, OH.

With the recent reduction in interest rates, we inquired to see if we could qualify for a better mortgage rate with Superior. We applied online to inquire about refinancing and were contacted within a day by Alisha at Superior. She provided us with plenty of information, answered all our questions and was great to work with. We qualified for a better interest rate which ultimately led to a reduction on our minimum principal and interest payment. This gave us the ability to reduce the time to pay off our mortgage by making the same monthly payment as we were with our previous lender.
