What Do I Need to Open a Savings Account?

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open a new account, Superior Credit Union will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. To become a new member:

  • Two forms of identification are required.
  • All new accounts opened with a check will be subject to a hold.
  • All accounts are subject to approval.

*MoneyMax Money Market Terms

Minimum balance to open MoneyMax account is $2,500.00. Dividends compounded and credited monthly. Balance method based on average daily balance. 

**Ohio Homebuyer Plus Terms

Minimum balance to open OHPSA $500.00. Dividends compounded monthly. This account will mature after five years unless used for an Ohio home purchase as indicated on your disclosures. This account has a a maximum amount of $100,000.00.

  • With the recent reduction in interest rates, we inquired to see if we could qualify for a better mortgage rate with Superior. We applied online to inquire about refinancing and were contacted within a day by Alisha at Superior. She provided us with plenty of information, answered all our questions and was great to work with. We qualified for a better interest rate which ultimately led to a reduction on our minimum principal and interest payment. This gave us the ability to reduce the time to pay off our mortgage by making the same monthly payment as we were with our previous lender.
