LIMA, OH— Superior Credit Union will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 19th at 9:30 a.m. at its newest branch office located within St. Rita’s Medical Center, 730 W. Market St., Lima.
The branch is located inside the main hospital entrance directly to the left of the information desk. Business hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. A Financial Services Officer is on site during those hours to assist with loans and account questions. Cash transactions, including deposits, are available via Interactive Teller Machine (ITM).
The ITM, essentially a self-serve teller station, can accept cash or check deposits as well as provide cash withdrawals. A live teller will be available via video conference during Superior’s call center hours, currently 8-6 Monday-Friday and 9-12 on Saturday.
The branch is open to Superior members and the general public.
Superior CU and St Rita’s share a rich history. In the early 1980’s, St. Rita’s considered starting their own credit union to serve employees. Instead, they partnered with Superior to offer cooperative financial services.
“St. Rita’s is our area’s largest employer and we have a solid 35-year relationship serving their employees.” said Phil Buell, CEO. “The convenience of a location on the St Rita’s Medical Center Campus provides an added benefit to the employees and our members visiting the medical campus.”
Buell expects SRMC medical providers, who often work extended days, to especially benefit from this new location. “Sometimes, just getting to the credit union to deposit a check or sign your loan documents is out of the question. Now, SRMC employees will have this convenient branch right at their workplace,” he added.
“We have an incredibly giving and committed team at St. Rita’s, so anytime we can help make their lives a little bit easier—we want to do that,” says Bob Baxter, President and CEO of St. Rita’s Health Partners. “Offering a full-service banking facility is one small convenience that we hope will support a healthier work/life balance.”
Since visiting Superior Credit Union both Laurie and I have become members and moved money into investments through Superior. We have been VERY happy with the service provided by Tim Niebel and others that we have come in contact with. The customer service and value of being appreciated as a member by far surpasses any bank we have been in contact with or used. With the recent reduction in interest rates, we inquired to see if we could qualify for a better mortgage rate with Superior. We applied online to inquire about refinancing and were contacted within a day by Alisha at Superior. She provided us with plenty of information, answered all our questions and was great to work with. We qualified for a better interest rate which ultimately led to a reduction on our minimum principal and interest payment. This gave us the ability to reduce the time to pay off our mortgage by making the same monthly payment as we were with our previous lender.
